Saving and investing to support research

The Brain Fund, the first private equity fund dedicated to fighting brain diseases

Established at the initiative of the Paris Brain Institute Friends Committee, the Brain Fund has active support from Jean-Charles Decaux, CEO of JCDecaux, Maurice Lévy, President of the Executive Board of Publicis Groupe, Eddie Misrahi, President of Seven2, and Serge Weinberg, President of Paris Brain Institute and Weinberg Capital Partners. The private equity investment fund (in the form of a fonds professionnel de capital investissement (FPCI)) was launched in spring 2022 with the aim of making 10 to 15 joint investments in three years alongside major buyout funds in Europe. 80% of the returns generated by the fund will go to Paris Brain Institute, while 20% will go to Fund subscribers.

Managed by the firm Impact Partners, the Brain Fund concluded its first funding round in September 2023, having raised €25 million.

In September 2025, Paris Brain Institute and Impact Partners launched a second €30-million fund, subscriptions are currently ongoing.”

The Invincible Été Fund: defeating ALS across Europe

Since announcing his illness, French entrepreneur Olivier Goy has raised more than €2.5 million in donations to support ALS research at Paris Brain Institute.

In January 2025, he launched a unique initiative in Europe with the private equity management company Pams through the creation of a philanthropic fund to support European research into amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

This specialized professional fund, with a term of 99 years, managed pro bono by the 123IM Group’s multi-management platform, Pams, aims to generate €1 million in annual income on a sustainable basis for research, once it is fully up and running.

SCPI Pierval Santé: real estate for health

Jean-Jacques Olivié, President of Euryale, has always believed that it is possible to combine the financial performance of an investment fund with contributing to the development of a healthier society. His meeting with Professor Saillant led to the creation in 2014 of the first shared-fund real estate investment trust (SCPI) in France approved by the French financial regulator.

By donating a percentage of Pierval Santé’s annual revenue, encouraging SCPI investors to make personal donations, and contributing as a management company, Euryale has quickly become a long-term supporter fully aligned with one of the Institute’s core values: innovation.
