Coming together internationally to advance research
United States
+
Creation of Paris Brain Institute America (PBIA) in 2023 to strengthen the Institute’s scientific and clinical partnerships internationally, including:
• Harvard Medical School: collaboration on brain tumors and the development of new therapeutic approaches.
• Columbia University: partnership focused on the diagnosis and monitoring of consciousness disorders and head injuries. This collaboration also extends to innovative educational activities and joint conferences covering various fields of neuroscience, including consciousness and neurodegenerative diseases.
• Stanford University: since 2017, regular exchanges of neuroscience students and a high-level research partnership have demonstrated the special relationship between Paris Brain Institute and Stanford, based on excellence and innovation.
• Yale University: launched in 2015, this partnership encompasses collaborative research projects, exchange programs for students, researchers, and clinicians, and “clinical grand rounds”, which represent opportunities for in-depth discussion of clinical cases between the two institutions.
Europe
+
CURE-ND (Catalysing a United Response in Europe to Neurodegenerative Diseases) is a leading European alliance bringing together four major institutions to strengthen research into neurodegenerative diseases:
• UK Dementia Research Institute in the United Kingdom
• Mission Lucidity in Belgium
• German Centre for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Germany
• Paris Brain Institute in France
These centers together represent a community of more than 2,000 researchers. The CURE-ND alliance believes that collaboration can help address the challenges of neurodegenerative diseases more quickly.
In Switzerland and Luxembourg, research collaborations and academic exchanges are organized to pool expertise and strengthen cross-border cooperation.
Other partner countries
+
• Japan and India: participation in international networks such as the INCF (International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility), promoting data sharing and the development of digital tools in neuroscience.
• Canada: strong partnership with the Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital – McGill University) on translational research projects in neuroimaging, cognitive neuroscience, neurodegenerative diseases, and brain tumors.
These initiatives promote the sharing of unique expertise and enable scientific advances to be pooled in order to accelerate innovation for the benefit of patients.
