A unique prototyping unit
The RnD Unit provides scientific teams, other platforms at the Institute, and incubated startups with unique equipment and research tools, enabling them to test their hypotheses in novel ways. With specialized engineers and machines and software designed and selected for prototyping, the platform supports the design of innovative tools, equipment, and products to meet the needs of researchers.

Adding a new dimension to projects using effective, high-performance systems
Created in 2022, the RnD Unit quickly demonstrated its value, with 50 collaborative projects launched and a full schedule for 2024. The support provided to this unit by its patron, F.P.Journe, proved to be essential for its expansion.
Funding the strategic development of the RnD Unit
As a long-standing partner, F.P.Journe was the obvious choice to support the development of the research and development platform. Thanks to this generous commitment, the RnD Unit F.P.Journe Charity Fund, renamed for the duration of the funding, will be able to increase the complexity and ambition of the projects it undertakes, thereby accelerating research and transforming discoveries into concrete solutions for patients.
Promoting innovation in an optimized environment
Funding for the RnD Unit is a key driver for acquiring new cutting-edge equipment, increasing the platform’s workforce, and optimizing the integration of new expertise within it. The spaces are also being redesigned to accommodate these new technologies.
